Explore Downtown Camden

Downtown Camden is a charming area filled with shops, restaurants, and galleries. Take a stroll down Main Street and explore the unique boutiques and art galleries. Stop by the Center for Maine Contemporary Art to see some of the best contemporary art in the state. You can also enjoy the view of Camden Harbor while sipping a cup of coffee at one of the many cafes.

Hike Mount Battie

For a breathtaking view of Camden and the surrounding area, hike to the top of Mount Battie. The trail is well-maintained and offers a moderate challenge. The best time to hike is in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes, water, and a camera to capture the stunning views.

Enjoy the Sunset at Laite Memorial Beach

Laite Memorial Beach will always be one of my favorite places because it is where I got engaged! This beach is small and low key, located in the middle of Camden. It is right by a park with some picnic tables, making it a great spot to enjoy sandwiches from Camden Deli or to bring some wine and enjoy the sunset. You will not be disappointed by the views of Camden Harbor, Camden Hills and Penobscot Bay.

Road Trip to Hike Acadia

You can't go to Maine in the summer and not enjoy Acadia National Park. Luckily, the park is less than 2 hours away and makes for a scenic drive. My recommendation would be to leave in the morning and drive up to Acadia, do a hike, and then take your time driving back, stopping in all of the cute coastal towns. Grab some lobster at one of the seaside restaurants for lunch and walk around the local shops. Definitely check out Bar Harbor while you are near Acadia before you turn around to come back!
