How to Stay Motivated as an Entrepreneur

As an entrepreneur, there are times when you will feel motivated and times when you will not. It is important to have strategies in place to help you stay motivated during the tough times. In this blog post, we will discuss tips, tricks and strategies that will help you stay motivated as an entrepreneur!
Here are my tips, tricks, and strategies for staying motivated while running your business.

1. Visualize success

Visualizing your success is a great way to stay motivated. When you can see yourself achieving your goals, it’s easier to stay on track. Imagine what life will be like once you’ve reached your goal and how that will make you feel. Let the feeling of accomplishment fuel your motivation!
Create a vision for your business:
When you have a clear vision for your business, it is easier to stay motivated. Having a vision gives you something to strive for and helps keep you focused on your goals. Once you have nailed down your vision, you need to make that vision tangible by creating a vision board. A vision board is a visual representation of your goals. It can include pictures, quotes or anything that inspires you and helps you stay focused on what you want to achieve. This can be done on your computer or physically. Gather pictures and quotes that inspire you and place them together in a way that makes sense to you. Then, hang your vision board in a place where you will see it every day to help keep you motivated.
Tip: If working on a computer is more your thing, make your vision board using Canva! I did that for 2022 and now have it as my computer background and phone background so that I see it every single day and am reminded of my vision.

2. Set Goals

A goal is what helps you measure your progress and stay on track. When you have specific, measurable goals, it is easier to stay motivated. Make sure your goals are SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound.

3. Take action

The best way to stay motivated is to take action! Don’t just sit around and wait for things to happen, take steps towards your goals every day. Even if it’s something small, it will help you get closer to your end goal. Looking at your vision board daily will help inspire that action needed to actually accomplish your dreams.
Find a support group:
It can be really helpful to find a support group of entrepreneurs who are going through the same thing as you. Some ways I have found community in the land of entrepreneurship is joining Facebook groups for the industries I am in, following like-minded individuals and communities on Instagram, and attending local women networking events.

4. Set deadlines

One of the best ways to stay on track and motivated is to set deadlines for yourself. If you have a goal that you want to achieve, break it down into smaller goals and give yourself a date by which you want to complete each one. This will help keep you accountable and ensure that you stay on track with your larger goal. It is also essential for avoiding the dreaded feeling of overwhelm (which I still sometimes can’t escape from!).

5. Reward yourself

When you complete a goal, it is important to give yourself a pat on the back and reward yourself. This could be anything from taking a relaxing bath after working hard on a project, going out for dinner or buying yourself that new book you’ve been wanting. Rewarding yourself helps to keep you motivated and encourages you to continue working hard.
My advice would be to make your rewards personal to you. For instance, I have been wanting to upgrade my iPhone to the latest version but fully realize that getting a new phone is most definitely a “want” and not a “need”. To incentivize myself, I set certain business metrics and goals for what I wanted to achieve before I could go get my iPhone. This not only made me work harder to reach my reward but also inadvertently had my new phone pay for itself.

6. Positive outlook

Another great way to stay motivated is by keeping a positive outlook on all that you have achieved so far. This can be done by writing down your accomplishments in a journal or even better-sharing them with others. Being able to reflect on all you have accomplished will help keep you going when things get tough.

7. Stay learning

Finally, it is important to always be learning and growing as an entrepreneur. This could mean reading books on business, attending workshops or seminars, or taking a course to learn a new skill. The more you learn, the more equipped you will be to handle whatever challenges come your way.

So there you have it- seven tips on how to stay motivated as an entrepreneur. I hope you read something today that inspired you to take action on your dreams and crush your goals!
