The Skyline of Atlanta

The Skyline of Atlanta

Atlanta's skyline is a stunning sight to behold. It is a testament to the city's growth and development over the years. The skyline is a mix of old and new, with modern skyscrapers standing alongside historic buildings.

What stands out to me most about Atlanta's skyline is the different areas.

While most cities you visit have one notable skyline consisting of the downtown area, Atlanta has several. Having lived in Austin before moving here, I truly didn't realize how big Atlanta was until seeing it from above. Depending on your view of the city, you may be looking at the Downtown skyline, Midtown skyline, or Buckhead skyline. And if you are lucky - all three!

The city's skyline is dominated by the Bank of America Plaza, which stands at 1,023 feet tall. The Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel is another iconic building in the skyline, standing at 723 feet tall. These two buildings are the tallest in the city and are easily recognizable from a distance.

The skyline is also home to several notable landmarks, including the Coca-Cola sign, which has been a fixture in the skyline for decades. The sign is located on top of the Olympia Building, which was once the headquarters of the Coca-Cola Company.

Another landmark visible from the skyline is the Centennial Olympic Park, which was built for the 1996 Summer Olympics. The park is home to the iconic Ferris wheel, which stands at 20 stories tall and provides stunning views of the city.

The Atlanta skyline has come a long way since the city's early days. In the late 1800s, the city was primarily a railroad hub, and its skyline was dominated by smokestacks and warehouses. However, as the city grew, so did its skyline. Today, the skyline is a symbol of Atlanta's progress and prosperity.

Best Photographic Rooftops In Atlanta | Hotel Clermont Rooftop

Located at the Hotel Clermont, the rooftop bar offers a stunning view of the Atlanta skyline. Visitors can expect to enjoy drinks while taking in the great view. The Ferris wheel and Centennial Park are also visible from this rooftop. The best time to go is in the evening, and the rooftop bar is open from 5 pm to 12 am.

My recommendation: For your next date night, make a reservation at Tiny Lou's located in Hotel Clermont. Plan strategically so that you finish up dinner and head to the rooftop to see the sunset.

Estrella rooftop is another great spot to capture the views of the city. The rooftop bar offers a variety of drinks and cocktails, and visitors can enjoy the view of downtown Atlanta while sipping their favorite drink. The best time to go is in the evening, and the rooftop bar is open from 4 pm to 12 am.

My recommendation: Estrella is a great spot for a girls night! If you are visiting, spend the day hopping from place to place down the Beltline. Eat at a good restaurant down there and then head up to Estrella around sunset.

St. Julep Rooftop

St. Julep rooftop is another great spot to capture the views of downtown Atlanta. Visitors can enjoy the view of the city while sipping their favorite drink. The best time to go is in the evening, and the rooftop bar is open from 4 pm to 12 am.

My recommendation: The logistics of getting around and parking in Atlanta can be tough. One thing that sets St. Julep apart in my opinion is the parking situation. If you are pressed on time while in town and want to grab a drink somewhere fun before heading on to your next stop, St. Julep is great.

If you're looking for a swanky hotel that includes a rooftop pool, check out the new Nobu Hotel in Atlanta. Visitors can take a dip and enjoy the great view while sipping their favorite drink.

My recommendation: While the Nobu Hotel pool is so new, I'm not sure if it is open to the public. However, this is a great option if you choose to stay here. The Rooftop Lounge is also available to rent out for private events. I recently attended two brand events held on top of Nobu and was so impressed by the venue!

Tesserae Rooftop (The Thompson Hotel)

Tesserae Rooftop

Tesserae is a great new cocktail lounge that just opened to the public. Located on top of The Thompson Hotel in Buckhead, the rooftop bar offers stunning views of the city. The time for the best views would be as the sun is setting.

My recommendation: If you love a good (and by good, I mean incredible) cocktail, this is the place to go. I actually attended a cocktail-making class with their lead bartender, Thandi, and it was nothing short of amazing. Grab a drink from one of their skilled bartenders and then head outside to enjoy the views.
