So I just got back from a weekend trip to Indianapolis and I have to say – it exceeded every expectation I had of the city. Upon finding out the National Championship was to be hosted in Indianapolis, I was excited to get to explore a new city; however, Gil and I both agreed we pictured an industrious city without much culture. We could not have been more wrong!
Since the National Championship game was on a Monday night, we decided we might as well drive up Saturday and enjoy our weekend there before the big game. Best decision ever. This gave us so much time to try different bars and restaurants, go to a Pacers game, and really see the city as a whole.
Between iconic restaurants, fun daytime bars, and a walkable downtown, Indianapolis has all you need and more for a great weekend trip you won’t forget!
St. Elmo Steakhouse is known for their shrimp cocktail and steak. Beware if you don’t like spicy food though; my friends could barely eat the shrimp! I was shocked at how huge the restaurant is. If you can’t get a reservation beforehand (we couldn’t), definitely go put your name in anyways and try to eat at the high top tables. It is beyond worth it! Everything was delicous.
if you want to go to brunch, this is the place. On Sunday they had a DJ and it was a blast. Get the garlic truffle fries, winter spritz, and the breakfast tacos. Wow. Also, if you had a little too much to drink the night before, they have a cocktail with Pedialyte in it that is great!
